Political geekitude quickie

Those who know me well may remember that up until a few years ago I proudly labeled myself “apolitical” and took zero… and I mean ZERO… interest in news, politics, or world events. Yes, it’s true, believe it or not!

Times sure have changed.

I would never have dreamed then that one day I’d know the most minute details about political procedure, personalities, and happenings… or that I’d actually choose to watch and discuss the U.S. Senate in action, jumping back and forth between C-SPAN2 streaming in a browser tab and Twitter conversations with politically-minded strangers.

Though knowing can be painful and there is no “un-know” switch… though jumping in is far easier than climbing out… though so many times my inability to affect situations leaves me frustrated and helpless… I must say that I definitely prefer the me of today than the uninformed version of yesteryear.
