Two summers ago I experienced Chicago for the very first time, and immediately fell in love with the city. It’s an amazing place! My visit was fairly short, but I still managed to fit in several of the essentials (Chicago-style pizza, anyone?!), including a visit to Millennium Park to see Cloud Gate – or, as the sculpture is more affectionately known, The Bean.
Since The Bean is made up of 168 stainless steel plates welded together (as per the Wikipedia article), it seemed as though a photo of it would be the perfect choice for today’s Photo Friday “Metal” prompt. Here’s one of my favourites.
Now, in more recent events… today’s happiness is brought to you by good news from the hospital! Peter is doing really well, is in less pain than he was yesterday, and totally aced his first physiotherapy session. (I had to laugh when he told me that the physiotherapist remarked, “You’ve done this before, haven’t you?” Um, yes, just a few times!) As it turns out, he won’t even have to use a walker, but will go straight to crutches. Good news all around – definitely happy-making!
This isn’t really something I can accurately capture in a photo, but I did my best… so here’s my drawing mannequin doing a little jump for joy!
Hopefully Peter will be able to follow his lead soon. 🙂
