as is my recalcitrant wont
when presented with
opportunities that might involve
risk
work
sacrifice
i always demanded
a rationale:
why should i?
as was your impulsive spirit
when presented with
contrariness in the form of
life-limiting
knee-jerk
negativity
you always countered with
a question:
why not?
it began to sink in
i listened
swapped my go-to default
NO
for an optimistic
YES
and watched my world
transform
