Time has most certainly marched on at quite a clip this year – and now that we’re nearing the end of July (hard to believe, isn’t it?), there’s only one week left before I’ll be jetting off to New York City to attend BlogHer ’12!
I’m tremendously excited about the whole thing, but in a lot of ways it really hasn’t fully sunk in, and as a result I am surprisingly (for me) scattered and disorganized. I keep having these sudden flashes of panic because I’m not ready yet!, which leads my brain to travel through a frantic mish-mash of both conference- and travel-related questions and self-reminders – I haven’t yet figured out which workshops I want to take! Do I need to sign up to attend the parties? Oh, do NOT forget to buy out-of-country travel insurance! And bring my passport! Have I missed registering for something important? Remember to pack my blog cards! And I really need to contact my roomie and get her flight info!
So many things to remember and do!
Thankfully, tomorrow is my last day of work before my vacation begins, so I’ll be able to take time to sit down with my itineraries, hotel bookings, iPad, BlogHer ’12 Conference Guide, packing list, etc. and start getting myself organized. I know I’ll feel better, and more calm, once I’ve made a checklist and sorted out the details that need to be taken care of before I leave.
This is going to be so much fun!
Funny, but during the span of time in which I was writing this post, my Inbox pinged twice with both a confirmation of my hotel reservation and a seat-selection e-mail from the airline. This is really happening!
Preparing myself for a wonderful time!
