Inaugural entry

So, you found me. Yep, here I am. Welcome to my newest piece of internet, Alphabet Salad.

“Alphabet Salad?” you say. “Er, why?”

Thing is, I don’t have any one particular area of expertise or ability that sets me apart from everyone else. I am drawn to writing, addicted to reading, and love the examined life. I have dabbled in a multitude of hobbies and crafts, some of which “stuck” and some whose leftover supplies gather dust in the closet. Among other descriptors, I call myself at various times a politics junkie, Vancouver Canucks fan, BookCrosser, office supply geek, 80s music trivia freak, learner of French, and cat person. I’m into clean eating and sustainable living. I am a Canadian, an office manager, a wife (10 years this November!), a daughter, a sister, a friend, and childless (childfree?) by choice. And at some point in time, I’ll want to write about it all.

So, Alphabet Salad.

I can’t promise brilliance or depth or talent or remarkableness. I can’t guarantee that I’ll always be interesting or cheerful or positive… in fact, I can promise you that I won’t… so if you’re looking for perpetual excitement or Susie Sunshine, you’re definitely in the wrong place. But I do promise that I’ll speak my mind, and be honest and genuine in the process.

So, this is me, jumping in with both feet. Let’s see where it takes us!

Laurel Storey, CZT – Certified Zentangle Teacher. Writer, reader, tangler, iPhoneographer, cat herder, learner of French and Italian, crocheter, needle felter, on-and-off politics junkie, 80s music trivia freak, ongoing work in progress.
