Celebrating a Decade of Blogging

Just a few months ago I celebrated my Ten Year Blogiversary – an entire decade (can you believe it?!) of sharing my life and thoughts online via a series of blogs that eventually brought me to this corner of the internet – Alphabet Salad, my beloved online home.

Exciting milestone, I’d say!

In just a few short weeks I’ll be traveling to San Jose for BlogHer ’14 (my third BlogHer conference!) – and, coincidentally, this particular event will be the 10th Anniversary Celebration of BlogHer! While I didn’t discover BlogHer until several years later – I signed up at the site in 2010 – I think it’s very cool that we started up around the same time and I’ve been happily blogging alongside them throughout the past decade.

Now, as a way to extend the whole ten year celebration thing to everyone, the theme of July’s NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) is Decade.

NaBloPoMo July 2014

Of course I signed up for NaBloPoMo – I can’t break the streak I have going, right?! – though in some ways I might be biting off more than I can chew, as I’ll be awfully busy in the days before, during, and after the conference. I’ll find a way to manage, though! There are lots of good decade-themed prompts from which to choose in case I need the inspiration, and I know I’ll have plenty to say about BlogHer ’14 itself, so I’ll just make it happen.

I imagine I’ll be dipping into the prompts several times throughout July, but won’t follow the list entirely – I’ll still be featuring my regular Gratitude Linkup, Tangled Tuesday, Photo Friday, and Photo A Day Challenge posts, as well as writing about any other topic that happens to take my fancy on any given day… but that’s the beauty of NaBloPoMo, isn’t it?! What you choose to post is entirely up to you – the prompts are there as a resource, but all that matters is that you post something every day throughout the month.

Interested? Think you might want to give NaBloPoMo a try this month? Head on over to BlogHer and sign up for daily posting in July… then come back to this post and let me know you did it!

(Pssst – for those of you who will be participating in July’s Ultimate Blog Challenge, signing up for NaBloPoMo is a no-brainer! You’ll already be blogging daily, so why not give each of your posts some extra mileage by exposing them to a whole new audience? I say go for it!)

So, will you be participating in NaBloPoMo in July?
Please share!
