Best Old House Neighborhoods 2012: Canada

(Note: This post was written by Laurel Regan and originally published in a separate blog called “Why Windsor…”, which was later merged with Alphabet Salad.)

II noticed today via a Facebook contact that Windsor – specifically the part of town known as Olde Walkerville – is featured on the This Old House web site:

Walkerville

As a point of reference, our new-old home is in Walkerville, just outside the boundaries of Olde Walkerville (as defined by the Olde Walkerville Residents Association). I haven’t explored enough to see the differences in architecture between the “olde” and “non-olde” parts of Walkerville, although I would imagine, somehow, that they would be rather subtle. Something to discover in future!

I’m still struck by how wonderful it is to be surrounded by so much accessible character and beautiful architecture, right in my own back yard.
